08 Apr Schultz Chemical Expanding into North America

Schultz Chemical intends to expand the North American market. In April 2014, its president with senior executiveNorth_American_tripA teams attended the symposium on project management and policy exchange at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and visited the Solar Energy Research Center and the Ivanpah 393 MW solar thermal power generating system in California, USA, which is the largest of its type in the world. They also visited the NextEra power project and the Abengoa 250 MW solar thermal power plant in Nevada, and carried out project discussions with the energy department of the government of Nevada, the University of Nevada, the Nevada Economy Development Bureau, and power companies in Las Vegas.

During this visit, we examined the opto-thermal R&D project that develops thermal power generation thermochemistry energy storage technology. Solar thermal power generation technology gathers the reflected light via a reflector to a heat absorber equipped with heat conduction fluid. The fluid is used for heating water, producing steam for driving a power-generating turbine. This technology will not only improve the energy storage time by increasing the capacity of the heat-transfer fluid, but will also reduce the cost of solar thermal power generation that can be supplied to the public. In addition, this type of solar thermal power generation can operate together with traditional fossil fuel power plants, and significantly decrease carbon emissions.

North_American_tripBThis trip to America has fast-tracked the company’s pathway into the North American market.
